Rita and Daniel married in the Douro Valley at the end of September, when the hills were still warm and the vines turning amber. The reception table ran the full length of the terrace — thirty metres at least. We watched it all from the edges.
The storm they’d been watching on the forecast never came. By the time the dessert was set, the sky had cleared entirely.
